Frequently Asked Candle Questions & Answers

Why coconut and soy?

The marketplace is full of mislabeled and misleading products, and it is becoming more critical to research where our products (including all ingredients) are coming from. There are a couple of different options for waxes out there. We've done the research. Our hand poured candles provide the cleanest burn available. The final result is a wax like no other, providing an amazing, clean-burning candle that never collects soot, exudes fragrance and is truly ecologically responsible. The purity of coconut oil allows the fragrance to burn true, releasing the fragrance without distortion. Coconut wax is commonly blended with other natural waxes to create a better burn quality and fragrant throw. Our candles are made with a proprietary blend of 100% coconut and 100% soy wax.

Do your candle wicks have lead in them?

NO ~ we use only 100% cotton wicks in all our products. Our environmental impact is first and foremost.

Do you use essential oils?

Our fragrance oils are derived from scientifically-processed natural sources and are certified skin safe by the FDA. All of our exclusive natural fine fragrance we use is free of parabens and phalates. Natural aromatics are made by physically extracting the volatile fractions from plants without chemically altering them.

Should I trim my wick after burning?

The simple answer is yes. After the candle has cooled down of course, please trim your wick to about a ¼”. Cotton Wicks burn best with frequent attention to keeping your wick to the right length. Burn times will be increased with proper care. Place the candles away from drafts as they may cause the candles to burn unevenly and can create smoke.

Can I reuse my candle vessel?

We source containers that are modern and versatile so that they can be reused in any space. To repurpose your jar, allow the candle to burn until there is 1/2" of wax left. Allow the container to cool completely, put the container in the freezer until the wax has hardened, and use a spoon to pop the hardened wax and wick out of the container. Use hot water and soap to clean out the container and use it for cotton balls, craft supplies, potting a new plant, whatever you can think of! Please throw away the remaining 1/2" of wax or use it in a wax melter. While coconut/soy wax is eco-friendly and biodegradable, it should never be poured down the drain. We currently do not have a recycle program in place as of yet. We ask that each customer do their part and continue the recycling chain.
